What's In Our Candles?
At 3 Bees Apothecary, we believe what you breathe matters just as much as what you put on your skin. Every ingredient in our candles is chosen with purpose; to keep your home healthy, your air clean, and your heart at ease.
Pure Beeswax
Unlike most candles on store shelves
that are made from paraffin (a petroleum
byproduct that can release toxins when
burned), beeswax is naturally clean.
Another gift of beeswax is it's long, steady
burn. With the highest melting point of all
candle waxes, beeswax burns slower than
soy or paraffin, which means you’ll enjoy
more hours of cozy light from each candle.
We source our beeswax from responsible
U.S. beekeepers who care for their hives
with the same respect and love that we put
into our craft. Lightly filtered to keep it's natural character, our beeswax often carries a faint,
sweet scent of honey and wildflowers, a little
reminder of the blooms the bees visited.
Organic Coconut Oil
At 3 Bees Apothecary, we blend our pure beeswax with organic coconut oil because it creates a cleaner, more consistent burn while keeping everything naturally toxin-free.
Coconut oil softens the beeswax just
enough to help the candle melt evenly, preventing tunneling and extending
the life of your candle.
It also allows the natural scents to disperse more gently throughout your home,
giving you a warm, comforting glow
without any synthetic additives. Clean ingredients, better burn, happier homes;
that’s the heart of every candle we pour.
Sustainable Wooden Wicks
Instead of cotton or chemically-treated wicks,
we use sustainably harvested wooden wicks
from U.S. forests. When lit, they create a soft crackling sound, like a miniature fireplace,
adding warmth and comfort to your space.
Wood wicks burn more evenly, reduce soot,
and help release the natural fragrance of
essential oils into the air. They also pair
beautifully with beeswax, creating a steady
flame that’s both elegant and relaxing.
Essential Oils
Most candles on the market rely on artificial fragrances and chemical enhancers like
phthalates, which are linked to hormone
disruption and other health concerns. At 3 Bees
Apothecary, we never use synthetic scents.
Our candles are gently scented with 100% pure essential oils. These oils don’t overpower your
space but instead provide a natural, grounding aroma that supports relaxation, focus, or calm.
It’s a scent you can feel good about.
